At Burgess & Associates, we believe in quality, personal service. We are a small specialized firm that offers competent advising from consultants who know how to get the job done. There are a lot of people who lobby part time and practice law or do something else as well. We are full-time lobbyists, period. This is what we do full time, year round. Our associates live in Shawnee County and work in Topeka for 12 months, not just during the 3 1/2 month legislative session. This allows us to cover interim legislative committees and visit with legislators throughout the year both at the Capitol and at other political functions.

Our success is attributable to our understanding of the legislative process, integrity and ongoing contact with legislators and candidates. We've found that informal, small-group meetings with legislators are a good way to inform them about issues and communicate our clients' positions.

Our firm was founded on the principle of quality, personal attention to clients and continues to operate that way. We listen to our clients and really get to know them and their positions. We also know the legislative process inside and out. This helps us to help you understand the implications of how any piece of legislation might affect your business.

We are experts on legislative rules and procedure. You tell us what you want to accomplish and we will plan and design a strategy to get it done.
